Legal Leadership Training
2023 - 2024
Through our practical workshops, led by successful speakers in their respective fields, law students pursuing their Master 1 in Economic Law at Sciences Po Paris will participate in our Legal Leadership Training program to develop the skills and tools necessary for leadership roles: advocacy and public speaking, interview and CV skills, self-promotion and work-life balance.

1. Self Advocacy workshop
September 18th 2023
This first workshop centered around Google's transformative #IamRemarkable initiative and featured the wonderful Linda Brahmi as the key contributor. #IamRemarkable aims to embolden individuals across the spectrum, particularly those from underrepresented communities, to cultivate self-confidence and the vital skill of self-promotion. During the workshop, participants were encouraged to celebrate and share their achievements, fostering an environment that empowers all to stand tall, take pride in their accomplishments, and serve as inspiration for others to do likewise. Engaging in such programs presents a significant opportunity to advance the cause of building a more just and inclusive society.

2. CV and Interview skills
24th of November 2023
Our 25 mentees joined us at the A&O Shearman office, where they had the opportunity to receive valuable feedback and recommendations regarding their CVs, Motivation Letters as well as discussing interview preparation. Throughout the workshop, Julie Metois and Hippolyte Marquetty provided the students with personalized advice regarding their CV, offering tips and tricks on how to construct an effective CV that will lead to an interview.
Additionally, they were also able to prepare a small pitch during an interview simulation, where they were able to train their communicative skills. We aim to continue supporting the advancement of the professional careers of students, which is one of Legal Change’s driving forces.

3. Tackling Imposter Syndrome
Legal Change is proud to have worked alongside Alomey on a workshop centred around overcoming imposter syndrome. Isabelle Du Cluzeau was our coach for a day!
Key goals were to understand imposter syndrome and how it may affect us, transform the beliefs that limit us and develop the confidence required to do so.
Participants were invited to share their personal experiences before developing methods to identify when and how imposter syndrome may affect them. The workshop then discussed methods to acknowledge oneself, their achievements and methods to change the imposter syndrome mindset.

4. Pleading and Public Speaking
workshop
24th of November 2023
On April 11th 2024, Rachel Lindon, a lawyer at the Paris and Madrid Bars, a member of the International Criminal Court and former secretary of the conference, did us the honour of leading the “Pleading and Public Speaking workshop” as part of the Legal Change Leadership Training.
During the workshop, Maître Lindon gave invaluable advice on how to manage small stress-related gestures and speech tics, as well as the best ways of correcting them. Participants were able to express their fears about speaking in a positive environment.
Ms. Lindon also addressed what it means to be a woman in the field of criminal law and advocacy, bringing an inspiring and pragmatic vision of the profession.
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Maître Lindon for her participation and the precious time she devoted to our workshop. Her advice on how to improve our oral expression and on our career choices was particularly appreciated.
